As we all know, there’s a drought going on in Southern California. Here are a few tips to doing just that.

- Make sure you hydrate properly before, during, and after a workout. It’s hot out, and if you’re running outside you’re going to need to drink enough water to replenish your body’s 70% H2O makeup. The brain needs water for every function it performs because about 60% of its makeup is water. In the brain, water is stored in cells called vacuoles. It’s not easy to say exactly how much water a person should drink every day. This number varies for each person depending on their height, weight, daily activity, and metabolism. If you don’t know how many glasses you should drink, follow the “8 glasses a day” rule and ask your doctor the amount that is best for you.
